Door infrared receiver:

R129 model was produced with infrared remote control system for door unlocking and locking. This system, known as the Infrared Remote Locking (IRL) system or the Infrared Door Key system, allowed owners to remotely control their vehicle's locks using a remote key.

The IRL system used infrared technology to communicate between the key and the vehicle. The key itself had a built-in infrared transmitter and was equipped with buttons to lock and unlock the doors. By pressing the corresponding buttons on the key, the infrared signal would be sent to the vehicle's central locking system, triggering the desired action.

Car owner can unlock or lock their car from a distance without physically inserting the key into the door lock. Additionally, the infrared key system have a feature that allowed for the simultaneous opening and closing of the door.

In January 2023, a black on black Mercedes SL-Class with model code R129 was purchased in Sauli, Lithuania and imported to Latvia in Europe. Unfortunately, the car was in accident and could not be recovered due to huge investments so we decided to distant the car and offer its spare parts to help maintain other R129 models.
